script.aculo.us - Web 2.0 Javascript

“Thomas Fuchs”:http://mir.aculo.us has just kick started a new realm in Javascript with “script.aculo.us”:http://script.aculo.us/ .

I think the CSS and Xhtml designers should commend themselves for giving the Javascript hackers a cleaner, more consistent DOM to work with.

CSS has had it’s glory days as the golden child, and we should continue to create clean, accessible websites in the future, but now I believe it’s time to pass the torch on to the Javascript hackers of the world and let them “Desktopify” (my word! ;-) ) our web applications.

Hopefully with websites like “script.aculo.us”:http://script.aculo.us packing clean, object oriented, unobtrusive Javascript such as “EffectsV2”, “Drag and Drop” and “Prototype”:http://prototype.conio.net/ we can do for Javascript what we have done for CSS.
